Andrew combines a living passion for teaching, learning, and empowerment with a background in systems science and engineering, systems thinking, and system dynamics modeling.
He founded and directs Youth Create with a dedicated group of students. Youth Create focuses on engaging students with their own community issues through research, reflection, and action with the goal developing leaders with a systems perspective, institutional knowledge, and social awareness while creating positive change in local communities.
Andrew currently teaches at Downtown Magnets High School in Los Angeles, CA where he has taught International Baccalaureate Math Studies, Statistics, Principles of Engineering, Pre-Calculus, and Algebra. His pedagogy emphasizes inquiry, team-based learning, and learner-centered learning, and he is adamant about presenting content in a way that connects mathematics with philosophy as well as application, especially in social domains.
